Ron Harris and Charles Preston combine more than thirty years experience at the highest levels of corporate and investment management, and enjoy strong relationships with leading investment firms throughout the United States. They formed Harris Preston & Partners, LLC to manage their unique private equity investment program, which they have refined over the past 10 years investing in the private markets.

RON R. HARRIS

Ron R. Harris, Managing Director, Harris Preston & Partners, LLC, has substantial operating, transaction and investment experience and relationships. Prior to joining Mr. Preston in the establishment of Harris Preston & Partners, Mr. Harris founded Southwest Capital Partners, a private equity firm focusing on corporate buyouts and select venture financings. In 1994, Mr. Harris led the effort to acquire Novell’s database division, creating Pervasive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: PVSW). Mr. Harris served as President & CEO of Pervasive from its inception until 2002, and Chairman of the Board until his term expired in December 2003. Mr. Harris led Pervasive’s successful IPO in 1997 and secondary offering in 1999. During his tenure, Pervasive significantly expanded its operations, acquired three different companies and established foreign subsidiaries in key countries around the world. In addition, Mr. Harris served on the board of AG-TECH in Nagoya, Japan, and as an investor and board member of Exterprise, Inc. prior to its sale to Commerce One, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMRC), and Journee Software, Inc. prior to its sale to Initiate Systems, Inc.

Prior to acquiring and building Pervasive, Mr. Harris was instrumental in the start of Citrix Systems (NASDAQ: CTXS) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. While at Citrix, Mr. Harris served as Executive Vice President with responsibility for all marketing, engineering and customer service operations.

Separately, Mr. Harris served on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio branch of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank from 1998 until 2004, where he chaired the Board for three of his six-year term. Mr. Harris also served on the Advisory Board for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas for four years. Mr. Harris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University and an MBA with honors from the University of Texas.

CHARLES M. PRESTON III

Charles M. Preston III, Managing Director of Harris Preston & Partners, LLC, has significant private equity investment experience and relationships. From May 1997 through November 1999, Mr. Preston was a Portfolio Manager in the Private Markets Group at The University of Texas Investment Management Company (“UTIMCO”), where he was primarily responsible for the commitment by UTIMCO-managed funds (the “UTIMCO Funds”) of over $550 million to 14 private equity investment partnerships. He was materially involved in the commitment by the UTIMCO Funds of more than $500 million to another 18 partnerships. Since November 1999, Mr. Preston has managed an investment effort focused on co-investing alongside proven private equity firms. Over the past ten years, Mr. Preston has developed extensive relationships with many private equity investment firms and professionals, high-quality management teams, and others in the Harris Preston & Partners Network.

Mr. Preston has substantial expertise and experience in attracting and making co-investments alongside the Harris Preston & Partners Network. Since the launch of UTIMCO’s co-investment efforts in 1997, Mr. Preston has led and co-led co-investments in the Harris Preston & Partners core strategy exceeding $75 million, and has evaluated more than 200 co-investments (totaling more than $1 billion in investment opportunities) originating from the Harris Preston & Partners Network.

Prior to entering the private equity investment industry, Mr. Preston was a corporate finance and securities attorney with Vinson & Elkins LLP, where his practice included a broad range of public and private financings, investments, mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Preston holds a law degree from Southern Methodist University (Cum Laude and Order of the Coif) and a Bachelors degree in both Economics (B.A.) and Business (B.B.A.) from The University of Texas at Austin.
